Preliminary Recommendations
Recommendations for the additional global and local validation measures were enumerated. These measures and their presentation were described in terms of the specific requirements of depositors, reviewers, and users.
All validation measures should include careful definition and criteria for interpretation. The latter will be determined by evaluating the statistics over relevant subsets of current PDB structures.
Detailed validation measures should be packaged in a separate data file that could supplement the the structure entry. It was also suggested that a mechanism be created to accept and exchange validation measures from the community.
Particular emphasis was focused on the delivery of validation diagnostics in a form that can be used in the publication review process.
